Our library is full of amazing books that educate and entertain our students' imagination. The library is used for a range of specialty lessons, research activities and open planned learning activities. Students who visit the library once each week may borrow books as often as they wish if they are avid readers. They must however return books before new ones can be loaned. Students are encouraged to choose a suitable book themselves as this develops their tastes and skills as lifelong learners. The library is equipped with a computer lab for research activities during library lessons and is also available for students to use in recess and lunch breaks.

This term, library lessons will be focusing on the Rio Olympic games with Geography lessons based on Brazil. These lessons are linked to classroom activities who are all researching different countries attending the Olympics.

This term the library will also be introducing the Children's's Book Council of Australia short listed books for Book Week, 2016. The Book Week theme for this year is "Australia: Story Country". We will be having a book character parade in Week 7 to celebrate the event. There will also be a Book Fair.

The library is supporting Buddy reading classes with a focus on picture books. These lessons show great social interactions between the students and promote active learners at our school.

All students are encouraged to participate in the Premier's Reading Challenge for 2016. It commences on March 6th and finishes on August 19th. Many of the books listed can be borrowed from the Busby West School Library.
