The Earth Hour Story

2017 will mark the 10th anniversary of Earth Hour as a global phenomenon. It started as an Australian idea and now is practiced in over 172 countries and over 7,000 cities and towns worldwide. The symbolic hour has grown into the world's largest movement for the environment, with beyond-the-hour projects and initiatives happening throughout the year.

Australians take part in Earth Hour to show their support for a low pollution, clean energy future, one in which we can continue to enjoy the best of nature and our great Aussie outdoor lifestyle.

On Saturday, 25th March, switch off your lights for 1 hour to support progress for the next generation. Switch off to #JoinTheFuture. Adapted from https://earthhour.org.au/about/

Students at Busby West Public School will be participating in Earth Hour on Friday 24th March. Students are encouraged to switch off electricity within their classroom for 1 hour.
