Busby West Public School believes that digital technologies can have a deep effect on the education of our students. Computer based technologies offer students and teachers the opportunities to access vast resources and the opportunities to explore new, exciting and powerful ways of teaching and learning. 


Students at our school have access to:

- SmartBoard technology with short throw projectors in all of the classrooms

- Networked computers in every class

- Fully equipped networked computer lab

- Library computer lab

- Mobile technology in every classroom including, iPads, XO laptops and Chromebooks


Last term Stage 2 and Stage 3 completed a range of coding activities using the MIT program called "Scratch". In these lessons all students were able to collaborate and design a Maze game and an interactive fish tank. Classes that attend the computer lab for weekly lessons this term are learning about digital art, online collaborative tasks, website design and the ethics around using online material.


Term 4

Stage 1 and stage 2 classes have been using Pivot animator and other online tools to create simple animated stories about healthy life choices and refugees.

Students are able enjoy coding lesson every week in our computer lab During "Tech Club". These sessions provide a guided environment for students with an interest in programming to create short animated films and games using various sites and applications.
